Many of the technical indicators have turned bullish for AMZN. It is now trading at a resistance level but is showing strength that will probably propel it through this level toward the 500 day MA level at 139 by the July 4th holiday week, IMO. It could break through that level, but I'll reserve judgement on whether the rally will have that much strength. A lot depends on how wide the losses are reported and how that squares in analysts and investors minds with the changing vision of where this company is headed. I think the Sotherby deal helps to reshape the outlook - it enhances the ability of Amazon to move into areas of business that will not be as commodity price driven. Does that make the company worth $20 or $30 billion today? Ans. - What difference does a fundamental evaluation make - the story has improved and the stock should move up as this and vastly expanded Christmas sales fuel the stock price. Whether we get another dip in the stock caused by the realization that Amazon has shelled out a lot more money in order to grow rapidly remains to be seen. Amazon hit near my expectations for a summer retreat - a bit earlier than expected.
