I always look at the discussions involving AOL, T, cable, satellite, dsl, narrowband, broadband in the context of the business strategy employed.

We must remember the difference between PRODUCT and DISTRIBUTION.

AOL =PRODUCT
Everything else is DISTRIBUTION.

A company like AOL which is MARKET driven rather then TECHNOLOGY driven always has its eye on the customer and how they can find more profitable customers for their product. Distribution Companies like T have a different business model where their profit comes from the pipes. If T thinks their pipes are going to make the most money and that their PRODUCT, AT&T ISP, is going to capture their profit then fine. The satellite companies and phone companies are already in the distribution business and they will be thrilled to get the AOL product in their camp to help them grow!

In my opinion, AOL and the AOL EVERYWHERE strategy is employing the best marketing discipline I have ever seen. They will serve their customer where ever and however their customer wants. And it is AOL's job to price it and deliver it for a profit. Right now everyone is just thinking about the cable customers, AOL is thinking about customers everywhere! We don't have to fight about the how.. An investor cares about HOW MUCH will the company grow and profit.
My opinion, it's the way I see it.
GoodDay!

..>> As far as <"AOL everywhere except cable">, don't be too fast to rule that out. I still think AOL and T will work something out<<
