Just for Paul: Intel Acknowledges Shipping Defective 810s

"The flawed 810 chip sets may not boot properly. Ones that do boot will not load the graphics drivers properly and will supply only VGA for PC display mode. They will not support Super VGA, a refined version of VGA that provides enhanced resolution...."

"Intel introduced the 810 in April, ahead of its scheduled June availability. Most motherboard companies said they would start shipping 810 boards by the end of May or early June. A motherboard source said many motherboard manufacturers had not yet begun mass production."

More evidence that Intel is pushing it hard, IMHO. Looks like they should have stuck to the original schedule and waited until they had a properly working product.

Hey...where'd this "Athlon" moniker came from? For a computer chip? Were do these guys dream up these things? Let's hope they're in it for the long run a-la decATHLON. The InteliJerks can lisp out the "Ath" part of it.

As for me, I thought K7 had more character.
