HI Terry, why haven't you slept? Getting in bed at night is one of my favorite moments. WHen Dan was in law school, which makes it the late 70s, an acquaintance of ours studied at night for the bar. He then clerked with a local attorney (which in Lexington, Virginia, isn't exactly bigtime law- mostly real estate and divorces, I would think) and he too passed on his first try. Last I heard he was the assistant Commonwealth's Attorney. Or may be CA now for all I know. He was a very bright, determined man, so it can be done. He may have taken a course or two at W&L, though, like Con Law. I think E is correct about the need to be able to envision oneself achieving--to be able to dream-first. There are many young people today who come out of environments that haven't given them even enough foundation on which to build dreams.
