The people who will fix the problem will benefit, assuming it's not their own problem. Those without embedded chips will not see their production slow, apart from potential refinery problems. The article suggests the larger and more off-shore rigs/wells have much more potential for problems than the small, simpler, and accessible ones. Would land drillers be the least affected? I'm not an expert; maybe others can fill in the blanks.

If you consider there will likely be lawsuits if this occurs, you could make some serious money shorting the right stock. I think it's a little to early to short just yet, though. (I would wait until the Fall, at least.)
