And it's going to get worse someday. Someday the internut bubbles WILL recede to sane valuations. And the online traders who supported them will be looking for somebody to sue.

The agreement you sign with your broker prevents you from suing them. Worse thing that can happen (from the broker's perspective) is arbitration.

Ever read the fine print on a brokerage contract? Pretty scary stuff.

but, if we want more freedom, then we better be prepared to support legislation that precludes this kind of lawsuit.

This seems like an oxymoron to me. Since when has legislation increased my rights and freedoms?
