The press release to me was confirmation of a hunch...

To me, it was rather obvious as AOL has this high valuation and they really are limited by getting onto the PCs... Dell, HWP, IBM, Compaq, etc. could put them out of business by offering the same service for free and then signing for content from some community sites that just want traffic. I figure you have to look at the choke holds to find places to invest. The box, the pipe and the content. All the rest is replacable. I think this is why softie battled so hard to require all windows pcs to boot up in the window rather than a custom HWP window.... with the lawsuit.... this is history!

I kept high investment levels in T, HWP and IBM as they had to most to gain by getting some of AOL's multiple....8)
