WAN versus LAN is not a fruitful way of segmenting the market that LU serves versus the market that CSCO serves. Rather a better approach might be circuit versus packet, or backbone versus edge, or enterprise versus carrier... but LAN versus WAN won't work. Cisco delivers both LAN and WAN products. LU/ASND deliver only WAN products. In the WAN Cisco and LU/ASND overlap in packet/cell networking but not in circuit where only LU has a presence. Maybe this will get you started.
