Leap revenues rise

SAN DIEGO—Leap Wireless International Inc. said revenues for the third
fiscal quarter rose to $2.9 million, a 165-percent increase from the prior
quarter, while the company's share of net losses of operating companies it
holds ownership stakes in was $36.2 million, compared with $4.5 million the
same period last year.

Leap reported that total subscribers had reached about 42,200 throughout its
holdings, including strong growth in both its Mexican personal
communications services project and its U.S. service, Cricket. Pegaso PCS,
the Mexican carrier in which Leap holds about a 33-percent interest,
reached almost 2,800 subscribers in its first commercial market, Tijuana, at
the end of the quarter. Cricket, launched in March using ChaseTel's existing
Chattanooga infrastructure, reported 8,700 subscribers at the end of the
quarter.

As I understand the concept of TA when properly used, fundamentals should be used to pick the industry and the company and TA is used as a check that you are going to pay a fair price and not overpay. It is used as a timing analytical tool. As Lindy says, most of us on the thread are long term investors and so the gyrations are not that important.

<<I think the reason you are getting negative feed back from us on TA is because we really don't care>>

no problem... you just might find an opportunity to sell some covered calls in a low risk situation... from a sucker who essentially buys the tiptop with leverage... which fills your pockets

I seem to recall some considerable expressed pain & suffering when Q went from 187 to 125... "hundreds of thousands of dollar flying out the window"

nobody in over 40 years has succeeded in shutting me up... so dont try

lindy - i have noticed one thing in common among all the folks that "really don't care" about technical analysis. that is - they really don't know about technical analysis. and, of course, many of the folks that really don't know about technical analysis have relied on a tried and true human behavioral characteristic: criticize what you don't know about.

i remember when you appeared on the qcom thread lindy - you bought qcom back in late march/early april when it made it's move. pretty good timing if you ask me.

i just wish everyone would quit knocking technical analysis. i employ it in my own way and don't agree with everyone's "analysis" and i frown considerably on using technical analysis as a predictive tool. i really hate seeing those long-winded predictions about the next month's stock action.

there are representatives on this thread from many different investing/speculating backgrounds. they all have something to offer. thread participants should not be subjected to "negative feedback" if they have participated in good faith. maybe the "shut-up-ers" would learn something if they'd, well, shut-up.

Jim, I think the reason you are getting negative feed back from us on TA is because we really don't care. We know the stock will go up and down though out the month and year. We only care about where it will end up. I have learned that I can't time a stock worth a damn, so I don't even try.
