Glad to help.

I can't think of a single source that will give you all the background you need to evaulate market position and opportunities for all the players. Perhaps one of the other posters here can help you out.

As for segmenting carrier versus enterprise, you're right that CSCO does have penetration into the carrier space however service provider sales are (I think) about 25% of Cisco's revenues (that's a swag), and probably closer to 85% of LU/ASND's. So, although there is overlap..and this overlap is growing everyday this has been sighted as a way to look at the two companies markets. LU/ASND is a non-factor (at least today) in the enterprise. Cisco was (on one time) a non-factor in the large core service provider networks and no where to be found in telephony. This is changing quickly and one reason that some people sight for CSCO's higher PE.

In the end an investment in LU or CSCO is a good long term investment. COMS is takeover bait and the only reason I'm holding them. NT will do well too. A good side bet. NN.....no comment. They try like hell but haven't demonstrated any consistency. I guess the same could be said of NT, but I have a feeling that the life NT is showing recently is for real.

Good luck!
