Wouldn't the good also be that the shares from the rights offering would be going into individual "investors" hands as opposed to a PP holder who could potentially manipulate the price (inadvertently of course)?
I understand that large enough investors could do the same thing, but I don't feel those buying into the offering would be as influential and would be buying for long term investment and not to turn around a quick profit.

If I am not mistaken, and please correct me if I am wrong, a rights offering is much preferred to a PP.
