Ross Systems Increases its Geographical Presence With a Strategic Alliance In North Africa

ATLANTA, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Ross Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROSS), a leading supplier of enterprise systems and the leading supplier of ERP systems to the mid-tier process manufacturing market, announced that last week it has concluded a strategic alliance with a group in Morocco to create the company, Ross Systems Maroc SARL. Ross Systems Maroc SARL will be responsible for marketing and installing Ross' applications in this country. This alliance will also allow the new Moroccan company to lead Ross' business activities in several different countries in North and Central Africa, including Gabon, Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, Madagascar, Kuwait, Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt.

"We see a great opportunity for Ross Systems in the local, mid-tier manufacturing businesses in North Africa, and especially in Morocco," said Oscar Pierre, Ross Systems Vice President of Operations, EMEA and Latin America. "The new Alliance with Ross Systems Maroc will be a key component to reaching our expansion goals not only in the Moroccan market, but also in several countries of the African continent where this alliance was needed to consolidate our presence."

Ross Systems Maroc is headquartered in Casablanca. Over the next several months it plans to open, directly or through additional partners, support offices in other cities in the region.

"We are pleased to establish our presence in Morocco," said Dennis Vohs, Ross Systems' Chairman and CEO. "There is a growing presence of industry, specifically European companies that have located manufacturing facilities in Morocco. Having a local presence is critical for us to offer to them quality support as well as an integrated management solution. We have been successful in Africa and the Middle East with key accounts including Jordan Telecom, Shell, Tabuk Pharmaceutical and Brasseries Star. The Ross Systems Maroc Alliance will enable us to concentrate on businesses that are based in North and Central Africa."

Mohamed Lamrini, who is the President and General Manager of Ross Systems Maroc, said, "The presence of Ross Systems in Morocco completes the panoply of the main ERP companies and shows the importance of the Moroccan emergent market. The year 2000 and the entry of Morocco in the World Trade Organization forces Moroccan enterprises to get structured and acquire integrated management systems, so they can assure their competitiveness in the international markets. Ross solutions can certainly provide support to this type of management needs that a modern company demands."
