question,

I have tried several time to install the software and have been unsuccessful. i have windows 98 and cannot even get the thing installed, yet alone working. i get a message that states "tapiconnecion" not installed. then, i get a slew of other fatal error messages.

i need to take a company public- just think what would happen if a company actually had good software

Sarc,

I worked with this thing all night and though I had my hopes up downloading it from the site it turned out to be a very poor quality connection. Compared to some of the dozen or so other's out there it ranks in the middle. And the middle means that it is just not usable for any type of conversation (hell, even the best of these are just toys compared to a real telephone). It was also very difficult to install (had to reinstall twice) and lacks many of the features found in other applications like Netmeeting (which comes with win 98) and the others. So many of these things get downloaded, tried once or twice and then discarded, and this is one of those.

Lets face it, it is virtuously impossible to get full duplex, telephone quality sound across an internet connection via a 56kb modem. Once you factor in the Internet delays and bandwidth constrictions you are left with really less then half of the actual bandwidth that a true telephone provides. Because of this you get very noticeable delays and that annoying echo and poor quality voice that intermittently drops to undiscernible or even no voice at all.
