Steve,

I just loaded the page with IE 5 and had no problems. Maybe it is your video driver. I am sorry, I just cannot help you.

Browser wars -- with their users.

I've been using IE 4.0 since getting my system at the beginning of March. It has never crashed -- not even once! I've been using Netscape Navigator 3.0 on my old system for a couple of years and I think it crashed only once or twice in that time. Both browsers were using 128 bit encryption, though I doubt that this matters.

I don't know if this helps.

PW.

What's a crash? Blue screen? Protection fault? Freeze? Mouse not responding? Screen go funny? Any error message? Does e-mail still work after browser dies? Does browser take anything else down with it? Does keyboard still work? Any 'funny' noises? Do you smell smoke? Does it crash on the SAME page each time?

A suggestion -- try emptying the cache periodically and see if it helps reliability.

Ok I installed IE 5 and it crashes while loading the page, even worse than Navigator (4.51 and 4.6).

That's very odd. It loads just fine when I tried in in IE 4, IE 5, and in Navigator 4.6. It's a fairly simple page with a small JavaScript that puts the current date in one of the columns. I have the IE script debugger turned on, and it doesn't complain about the thingie they include. I can't imagine why you're having such trouble.

Did you make any changes to your default preferences when you loaded IE?
