The GAME IS OVER.....

>>Come on Novell! Get in the game! Buy AltaVista! For crying out loud do something!>>

Are you crazy?

At this stage in the game, gateway buying AltaVista would be like Novell buying WordPerfect.

Gateway is trying to follow. Following to catch up in "Internet time" is a recipe for disaster.

You MUST lead!!

Discover a new paradigm, find the inflection point, embrace it and never look back!

Novell must clearly and without any reservation or hedging enter the next game by catering to THE INDIVIDUAL.

Here's the vision.

We will ALL have the same power Altavista, Yahoo, AOL, Lycos and Tripod has.

Like a worldwide earthquake, ALL power and control is shifting ever more rapidly to the INDIVIDUAL.

You must rewire your brain to get into this mode. Arrogance will lock out any chance of entering this game.

The Old Business Model is DEAD!

AltaVista's, AOL's, Yahoo's "they gotta come to me" portal strategy is irrelevant.

Click thru revenues on banner ads have dropped through the floor? Why? Because for the past 3-6 months individuals have bookmarked their worlds for what they want to see. Now its time for those worlds to come closer to those individuals - reach out and embrace them more directly.

The end game is TIME AND TRUST. Getting people's time and trust is the only thing that matters anymore. Technology and information is becoming more and more irrelevent. Relationships are the holy grail.

When the automobile first came on the market, did we ever have to rethink whether we would ever consider going back to the horse and buggy or perhaps try to build our own pushcart or flying machine? From that point on all automobile manufacturers had to win the client over with good service, improved service and features at a fair price.

Novell has the technology that can unbundle the Internet and all the information inside it right into the arms, ears, eyeballs and lap of the individual - NOW, not later.

They need to get ride of the arrogant management deadwood inside, start throwing people out of their offices or even getting rid of offices altogether.

We are at the point in business history where the higher the floor you are on, the size of your office and desk, the bigger the title and the more people who report INDIRECTLY to you, is inversely correlated to the degree to which you are in touch with the energy behind this revolution.

To humbly walk the street, feel the heat and share the energy behind this massive force behind this energy of freedom that's sweeping the world will require a complete rethinking of ALL traditional business procedures and processes: away from control toward embracing a faith in the power of unconditional giving.

The word "business" will be replaced by the word "service".

Helping and serving others.

The IP Revolution is all about the power of ONE. I don't care how strong Armstrong is or how intelligent Case are Gates are, the forces of convergence will not play into the hands of the mighty and powerful. They will play into the hands of inviduals who see and understand this much BIGGER VISION behind the benefits of collaboration, sharing, and openness.

"Business" as we know it is a quid pro quo, dog eat dog, energy taking, power sucking, control oriented beast.

"Service" as we know it represents the unconditional, open, energy giving, power generating, control gifting and delegating viral wave of the future.

The energy of service is the driving force behind this revolution. Those who are trying to use the Internet to morph Old Business models into new DOT.COM companies that follow the Old Business model will be the flashes in the Internet pan.

Let's KISS.......

Is Novell going to do continue to "do business" or will it enter the world of service?

It's up to Eric to lead the way.

GO!!
