Hello Bill. EMC. This does not look like the same thing.

dailynews.yahoo.com

They had Martin Biggs of M.S.Dean Witter on CNBC tonight as an analyst and then again for the now hour long business show with Sue and Ron. He was his usual bearish self on the techs and internets. I noticed a bandage on his forehead. Nobody asked him all evening what that was all about. Maybe self inflicted? With those techs and internets coming back last week, who knows. gg.

There was a great report tonight on how businesses are using the internet more and more and how their productivity is and will be going up for a long time to come. It came across like the internet is the best thing that ever happened to business. Yeah. Information technology was the key in that report and how this will be a 1.3 trillion business by 2006 and a vast number of people will be employed by that industry.

So, Martin Biggs, or some of those other analysts bashing techs and the internet, should maybe take a second look.

Oh, the Father of the internet was going to be interviewed tonight on that show. But gosh, he never made it. Sue and Ron said say would stay a bit longer and tape the interview and show it tomorrow. Al Gore was running late doing something in Denver or wherever he was. Shoot, can't be on time for a business show as a V.P. what could he possibly do for business if he were to become President? gg.

Sonny

Bill,

You wrote: today in EMC was old fashion profit taking

Here's the problem I'm having with the market. There seems to be little in the way of fundamental changes that account for the changes in the market's direction. The news doesn't seem to be enough to make a difference, and the market goes up and down.

Mind you, I'm not complaining about it. Being a long-term investor helps, but even long-term investors need to see some fundamental information now and then!

Profit-taking is a typical activity in markets where there is no conviction as to what direction we are headed. So is "calling the bottom." EMC is a good company, and they've proven it over the years. Good you held out. I'm actually looking at it to see if I will buy in at this point.
