Your comment in reply # 133937

...in essence the common comment on the thread about dell being a "fast follower" is corrugated bs, for that type of management is in opposition to a bto model.

Your comment in reply # 133942

as a proponent of the "fast follower" school of business, who are they gonna follow next????? at some point a "great" company has to be a leader and innovator...or they cannot remain great...correct me if i'm wrong...know any great companies that never led?????

Why, then did you say "they would never get knocked out or knocked down"?

Why are they in OPPOSITION if it made them Great but can't remain great unless they lead as I mentioned to PMS WITCH in reply #133923.

GW PLANNER

PS nevermind you answered it your reply to meathead # 133951

Ed,

You seem to be pushing the notion that MD should be articulating his business plans to the public at large and the press in particular.
I personally tell the press only what I want them to hear. They are not a suitable sounding board for company strategy and tactics.

Also, you seem highly critical of MD strategy and tactics when they are currently unmatched in the PC industry and have CPQ, IBM, HWP, etc on the defensive.

I disagree with your criticisms and IMO it would be deleterious to DELL to follow your gratuitous advice. I for one hope he is not distracted by this type of self serving criticism.IMO, He should stick to his business plan and articulate it according to plan.

Your comment on "kool aid " is silly. There are many people on this thread that contribute solid, useful information as it becomes available.
