Hi Palo Alto Trader; About holding those losers...

Every trading office has a couple guys who are only coming in once a week while they wait (due to lack of margin) for their daytrade/scalp that became an investment to come back.

I think that when you do have sufficient equity to carry the losers on margin, it is still harder to play while they are facing you on the screen, particularly if they are a sufficient chunk of change. They're a bummer to have around.

Sometimes I think that traders can take big losses on their losing small positions easier than they can take big losses on larger positions. That is, the few times I have froze, (rare for me,) it happened while in having to large of a position.

The advice on hitting the bid a half point below the "market" is correct. Many is the time I ended up wishing I had done this, and ended up instead with a multi-point loss.

Best of luck to you all.
