Let's say you have 3 cable outlets, it's one line in from the cable co and you using a splitter to make it into three. If that splitter expose to weather conditions and time, it will corrode to a certain degree. Also the little metal connectors on both end of the line could be old and loosened too. If you install the modem yourself and not function probably, you know how that feels. Have you ever assembled a PC yourself? I had both of my splitter and connectors to the modem replaced by COX. Any good suggestion?

Wonder any RoadRunner user bought the modem from store and installed without outside help can share their precious experience.
