bgg: Can't argue against a 400%gain in any stock! I've done the same with Apple Computer...Wal-Mart...and let loose of Coke last year. Placed profits from Coke & Wal-Mart into 3com...so my position is much different than others...I'm gambling on my winnings! Yes...there is the aspect that I could lose all that I have gained but so far...so good. As with you...I'm staying with the techs...may take a conservative position in Compaq...Sony is a definite. Yes...I agree with you 100% on the networks and am quite bullish on them! Read an article last night on a survey which related that Computer use is dropping but remaining high amongst those in the upper income brackets...this could cause some drop in network sales...I don't know...will have to keep abreast of data/news. See the Asian situation improving moreso during the 4th qtr which should offset the possible sales decrease in computers here. As I have said...3com has quite a bit of intellectual value, and alone is worth more than 30ish/sh. If acquired...could be looking at around 80-85/sh. That would be a very good return for me...especially when my break-even is between 22-23/sh. Even if she finishes the year around 40/sh...I'll come out A-OK !
