meathead...intc and msft are not dependent on dell....if dell does a cpq, some one else will fill the void...just as dell is doing now...i agree with much of what you say...but if intc goes in a different direction, where does that leave dell....dell r+d and patents unique to dell, but without the wintel connection dell proprietary components don't do a hell of a lot. the world does not revolve around dell....as much as you would like to convince yourself and others...."others" depend on "leaders"...your comment, dell a "follower"...a bit illogical to depend on one who is behind you.....<vbg>
