Ouch.

First thing:

With your boot disk, do you have the CD-ROM driver being loaded in the CONFIG.SYS and MSCDEX.EXE being loaded in the AUTOEXEC.BAT? If not, that's your first problem.

Your major problem (as you noticed) is that your Windows directory is toast, and a re-install is most likely (understatement?).

i see richard is helping you along. i sincerely hope you're getting things squared away.

i wanted to repost this site for the netscape users on the thread. it is positively the best site i've come across for tracking down causes and correcting general protection faults and invalid page faults.

help.netscape.com

between this site and the links one finds there, it would seem that very few stones are left unturned! it has helped me through some recent crashy behavior.
