Dell has sizeable R&D. Also, Dell requires a large portion of their
vendors to build to specific specifications. They will also force
suppliers to re-tool and re-spec if necessary to keep Dell's
business.

You claim Dell is totally dependent on suppliers. The opposite is
true in every case but two... Intel and Microsoft. All other suppliers are dependent on integrators like Dell for business and
must compete heavily. Dell's scale puts them largely in the driver's seat.

Re: so you sign a $16b parts/r+d contract with the "enemy"....how do you bite the hand that feeds you???
