of a partnership agreement between Dauphin Technology Inc. and Oracle.
Dauphin's mobile pen-based computer, Orasis(TM) will support
Oracle8i(TM) Lite, the mobile component of the Oracle Internet
platform. This specialized combination is designed to eliminate the
complexity of mobile computing.

our customers by bringing Oracle enterprise data and applications to
robust and powerful mobile hardware," said Bill Dunnam, Dauphin's vice
president of sales and marketing. "Now our customers can provide
enterprise application to their mobile workers wherever they are and
whatever the conditions."
Extending Oracle's e-business reach, Oracle8i Lite provides users
with continuous access to enterprise information from any browser on
any device from any location. Whether accessing information offline,
with Oracle8i Lite, or online, with Project Panama, users will have
the latest business knowledge at their fingertips. Oracle8i Lite, the
Internet platform for mobile computing, is a single-user, 50KB-750KB
footprint, object relational database specifically designed for mobile
computing applications requiring seamless synchronization with central
databases. Supporting a wide range of operating systems including
Windows 95/98/NT, Windows CE, Palm OS, EPOC 32 and Chorus, Oracle8i
Lite is optimized for use on small mobile application devices, such as
laptops, handheld computers and personal digital assistants (PDAs).

pen-based computer gives customers a true wireless mobile pen-based
computer that will utilize all of the power and flexibility from many
software applications built around the industry leading Oracle8i Lite
database. The Orasis(TM) mobile computer, running Oracle8i Lite, will
open new markets for customers who have need enterprise information
anywhere and anytime. This is especially important with field sales
forces, utilities and financial users, who need to capture data while
working in the field and immediately sharing this information with the

Using the Oracle products will enable Orasis(TM) users to
seamlessly interact with all dynamic Web content features and

through the use of either a keyboard, pen or hands free voice

which features up to a 266 MHz MMX Pentium microprocessor, 128 MB
system memory and a large 6.5 hard drive.
The Orasis(TM) is the first handheld computer to incorporate
Intel's 233 and 266 MHz Pentium MMX processor. Its versatile design
allows for the integration of various modular accessories including
floppy drive, CD-ROM, DVD, GPS, wireless radio and extended battery
