If a speculative stock trades at $8 with an upside of only $10 it's time to short some again as I've done today.

Welcome. With the recent movement in the stock I wondered when those from the Dark Side would show up... :-) You'll probably make money short term as this stock's probably ahead of itself.

Hi Elizabeth,

> What kind of logic is this?

Where do you get the upside of only $10? Perhaps just considering the one target, but there are a couple of other very good targets. Manhattan has also positioned itself as its own area play, staking the surrounding ground or obtaining an option.

The questions you ask are good ones, although I'm not sure they apply to Manhattan. I agree, superficially the major selling to a junior is perhaps not logical, until you consider who the major was and more importantly, what happened to that company. Manhattan was started by one of the individuals involved with that "major" at the time of the initial drilling.

I'm confused about your comment about the government approving the deal and funding.

This was not a deal that was thrown together in an evening, as many long term followers of the story are painfully aware. The recent action in the stock is much more logical to me than someone shorting the stock without familiarity with the story.

Personally I agree with Gerald that the stock is ahead of itself, although I don't agree to the extent that I'd go short. I sold some of the shares I picked up when the stock started to move, since I believe in selling into a rally. I still hold a core position from the bleak winter prices, and I do hope that I'll be able to buy more at a little lower prices shortly.

I recall that I've seen some very interesting posts by you on other threads (Nuinsco maybe?), and I sincerely hope that you weigh in with your opinions when you have a chance to study the story in more detail.

Regards,

Jeff Dickson

You might make some money by shorting just now Liz because of the recent rise in price. It makes sense for shorts to move in at this time. It is mostly a question of technical timing. But what you are saying is crap and you know it. The upside of $10 is a short term figure. The rest of what you say reminds me of how my ex likes to twist around things that are said to make them seem to be something they are not.

bye

Elizabeth,

Short away ... in the short term you may pick up a few bucks .... however, I think you stand a better than 70% chance of getting buried. This is not Viceroy we are talking about ..... and to come on this thread and admit that you do not know the details of the story, yet you short .... well - in this case you may have made a mistake.

If the sulfide golds @ TG1 are decent and they also extend the size of the TG1 deposit and TG3 extends in a meaningful way onto TG1, you will get buried .... and then there are the several other anomalies on TG that have yet to be drilled .... not to mention Lacones.

Hi, Elizabeth. Welcome. Me? I'm always happy when shorts show up. You've already sold...and are sitting there...KNOWING you will have to eventually BUY MAN. That's cash-on-the-sidelines...looking to buy....and that's bullish as hell!! (vbg)

"speculative" may no longer be a really appropriate description of MAN. It was speculative for YEARS, true. Now though...they have their official contract signed, sealed and delivered by our new partner...El Republic de Peru...who REALLY WANTS this to work. New report sez we got more metals than we knew about. Financing's a done deal...and shorts are showing up. The "upside of only $10"? Words. Just words. Who knows what profit lurks in the heart of Tambo? The Shadow knows....and he speaks through Señor CC...aka "si si." (g)

Anyway...welcome, Elizabeth. We hope you don't lose TOO much dinero. Best regards, rd

<<... knowing the junior can't finance the project without bringing in a major? >>

and how do you conclude this...ma chère. You certainly are not aware of who are the people behind MAN.

You did well shorting VOY as the stock could not resist to the temporary but dramatic fall of the yellow stuff. As for most other gold miners, there was only one direction to go.

I am not sure you understand the upside potential of MAN. Of course, if all future announcement are negative you may gain $1-$1.50 on the downside, but the odds are that there will be more positive news.

May I ask what is your target on the downside ?
