<< The lesson to be learned from Kosovo is that lobbing a few bombs or missile to impress the citizenry is no substitute for real diplomacy, or real war. >>

My, my, my. Cynical, aren't we?

Lesson #2: The combination of "lobbing" a few bombs and the courage of the KLA beat back the Serb aggression.

The bombing was not done to impress the citizenry. It was strategic bombing in an attempt to destroy the Serb's war machine. You use pretty language, hollow but pretty.

<< This idea that a little bombing would advance the cause of peace is horse shit. >>

In the face of criminal acts, force is sometimes the best choice. If this "little bombing" was so ineffective, how come it caused the Serbs to flee from their cherished Kosovo and Slob Milosevic to turn his back on the same Kosovo Serbs that he had pledged to protect?

The "little bombing" was very successful and could result in lasting peace in the Balkans and also act as a deterrent against future depots.

I guess you feel that the "little bombing" only did a "little damage" to Serbia's infrastructure. In that case, Serbia should be able to easily fix their own infrastructure.

<< We make peace or we make war, but these CNN orchestrated hygienic mini-wars ... >>

Where did you pull this statement out from? What did CNN have to do with "orchestrating" this mini-war? Would you rather not having news coverage during a war? Do you want to burn all World War II or Vietnam news reports and coverage? How much do you want to limit the news?

The news coverage of Vietnam helped to shorten that terrible mistake.

<< A case can be made for fixing a particular type of situation with missiles or bombs, but not all situations. >>

I can agree with this. For instance, we shouldn't use bombs to solve the killing of whales by the Alaskan natives, but it would be worth considering. <g>

<< Kosovo was the latest action in our ever expanding missile-diplomacy ... >>

Do you want to disband our military? Do you want the US to pledge never to use it's military?

What is your motto, "Not once cent for defense, but millions for tribute?"
