American Spirit, comparing COMS to NOVL and Unisys does not convincing. NOVL has a huge installed base of mission critical products and a very hot NDS product filling a gap that MSFT has left. Unisys is a services company--not even the same industry as NOVL and COMS. COMS is failing in its strategy, suffering from success only in low margin, low volume products, weak in management.

If you continue to bottom fish, you will stay on the bottom, imo.

I like your spirit, but encourage you to try some gorilla investing. It is a lot more rewarding than buying high-tech companies that are in trouble.

You say CSCO was 65 in October? That was pre-split and during the mini-bear attack. Look at the chart. My CSCO is up 28% this year. I expect it to be over 50% by year end. Do you expect COMS to break 50 points this year? I think it will break 20 on the way down, but that is IMHO, of course.

Good investing. I really hope you are right about COMS, but I ain't bettin' on it.

American Spirit,

For what it's worth I agree with you. If you look at the downside risk on COMS there is a good argument to take a position...which I did a month ago. COMS as a takeover target or simply through restrcuturing and resizing is a solid value play....and like you I agree that there is the "opportunity" for greater returns. The hit it's taking this morning is in part buy on the rumor sell on the news and poor revenue growth. In the end however no one expected COMS to blow out their numbers. I think the retraction is overblown. COMS will be in the high 30's by next earnings report. Still to hope for 80... I could only hope. :)
