Hi Harry, I thought that you did not like playing the short side!

I am going to play ROMC for a bounce if it falls at least 6% in intra-day trading today. I was shorting spikes (short the spikes, buy the dips) on CBSI MAST ANLY KEA REGI ROMC CHRZ TSCC SYNT AGS CPWR MMWW. Since the sector (CBSI MAST ANLY...) was confused, ORCL up and CBSI down I went over and got lucky playing with SEEK. I caught SEEK's last two tops; however, against my good sense I put a long position on ATHM at Monday's close and took a hit on Tuesday's close.

I think (CBSI MAST ANLY KEA REGI ROMC CHRZ TSCC SYNT AGS CPWR MMWW) will be struggling over the next Quarters. MMWW is interesting. MMWW has been the third party for testing most of WCOM's applications in Colorado Springs for Y2K compliance. They should have showed good numbers up to this point, but I feel they will also drop like a rock soon since they will complete their work by August.

Yes. I will be entering short positions in CPWR on run ups and holding for a few days. Hopefully, I will catch a fall and make some money in the mean time. For some unexplainable reason, I have an illusion that the Internet stocks (DCLK AMZN EGRP CNCX ATHM CMGI YHOO AOL CNET INKT VRSN) will test new highs before 2000.

Off topic, DCOM is not so bad. It is very easy to put a DCOM server together using Microsoft's tools. Microsoft's Visual C++ wizards are powerful these days. Setting up the security on DCOM to work the way you want it is a bit of a challenge. Windows 2000 does a pretty good job at Distributed Computing; however, I do agree the operating system is getting mind boggling in respect to complexity.

I am expecting an offer from www.AdminiQuest.com here in Colorado Springs today. They have over sold some product features (vaporware) and are now in the process of building an IT department to extent the product in house. Very risky move but the director I interviewed with is thinking up a number and bonuses to encourage my transition.

Lachesis,

Interesting the number of stocks below their 200 SMA has been stuck in a trading range of 20-22 for the past 6 weeks despite the rise in interest rates. This level indicates the market is overbought but it also indicates good rotation. Amazing we could go higher if we get a predictable interest rate outlook.

Good luck on the new job. When I was doing interviews earlier this year, I ran into a similar situation. I can't say I liked the way the group was managed though. They grew from 200 employees to 1500 in 3 short years and they were trying to keep the consensus type of management style that worked when they were small. It's great for keeping everyone involved, but difficult under tight schedules as they is no one to call the play. It was even tougher as they were under an accelerated product schedule. You want to get your bonuses up front in that situation.

Out of town tomorrow, but it should be interesting. Today's action indicates people are in a mood to buy, but I would not be surprised if they sold on the news. Intermediate term, it looks like we could rally through earnings though. After earnings should correspond with the end of Techfool's buy signal.

Harry
