EMC could easily be the next OEM. The marriage between HP and EMC has been dissolved. EMC took another hit on Monday. If AR is right that we are out of the running at the "garage company (HP)" then that leaves us with EMC. Unless Vixel has a secret weapon.

A reader posted the following on the EMC board
regarding ML's take on the IBM announcement. Note
the time lag and the implied criticism of the
Brocade switch.

Of course, no one ever seems to clarify which switch
is being talked about: the old one, the new one,
the one the lab bench, etc.

Have some very strong impressions based on Sun and
Oracle's joint "dog and pony" show currently happening
in Boston in front of a thousand techies. No question
that Sun and Oracle are the front runners in the technology
which will heat up the Web business. The Raw Iron stuff
is for real. IBM needs to partner to catch up. SGI is
probably as good as dead (I'm dumping my shares at the
first opportunity).
