On a personal note, I have to thank America for defending South Korea. Otherwise, I'd be bowing down and worshiping statues of the late Kim Il Sung, instead of working in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

I agree. My point was that this was not a defense of the United States, which was the basis of the, IMHO, hate-filled response to my post.

He is also considered a national hero in The United States, (Outside the democratic party anyway), Australia, and Japan, (surprise, surprise).
