Yes it will provide global roaming. GSTRF phones only work on Satelite when it is in a roaming situation and there is no CDMA land coverage. Thus the satelite charges only apply when you need it. However my concern is with overly large handsets that will discourage use by travelers. I would be much more bullish if I knew the handsets were within reason(size).

I just came across your message where you say Motorola has put the Teledesic program "on hold". Could you point to a link? Which high bandwidth satellite system is the front runner these days?
