Conversion of materials to cells:

Our best guess is 5 layers per bicell: cathode / separator / anode / separator / cathode.

Then use 8 bicells to make the 65M model cell.

Assume the spools are wide enough to make 65mm cells, so you cut it off in 'lengths' of 36mm.

So you get:

50,000m /(5x8x0.036m) = 34,722 completed cells.

That's my best guess.

Rich

PS There's another hidden assumption: that the 'base' of the external cathode layers have some separator/insulator which is created during the initial 'coating' process used in making the cathode films. That provides an external 'insulator' material during the stacking of the bicells. It's either that, or the 'separator' materials are used for this rather than between the anode and cathode layers. We know there are 5 spools 'input' to the Arcotronics, which make up a bicell construction. We're guessing as to the details based on the April '99 and May '99 patents describing bicell and cell construction, and which provide alternative constructions.
