Hi Rich, I can boot without the Start Up disk and get into EDIT. I changed the line in Config.sys, also looked in Windows for Himem.sys, and it's there. Shut down Re=booted and get 1 beep in post before the Windows 95 logo appears. Then in a couple seconds Logo disappears and 2 beeps then the message,

HIMEM.SYS IS MISSING,
Make sure that the file is in your windows directory,

then the c:\> prompt, from here I have access to c:\> and a:\> also.

There are 2 HIMEM.SYS, #1, 32,935kb 7/11/95, #2, 33,191kb 5/11/98, I have tried both. Doesn't seem to matter. The new one from my win98 on trading machine.

Regards, /jw

Hi Rich, I have created a Start Up disk per your instructions.
Have loaded CDROM drivers. System sees A:\>, C:\> and now I have
D:\>. I have Windows on C:\> in Windows directory. Also have an empty Win95 directory. Shall I copy my win95 cd into/on top of Windows Directory or copy to Win95 directory, delete the Windows directory and run Setup in win95 directory?

Maybe a re-install will correct the HIMEM.SYS error, Dunno',

Regards, /jw

ps; only have 13mb left on HDD. Probably have to do one or the other or I may run out of HD space. I could delete other programs if need be. Will it work if I go to D:\> and run SETUP and direct it to
C:\>Windows ?, Thanks
