The program guide will be the "gatekeeper" to the internet and a whole host of interactive services.

Then you'd think they could come up with something more descriptive for it than "program guide". They make it sound like its focus is entirely upon TV.

IF I were TV Guide and I could own my own thru what appears to be a
very cheap investment in SRCM

Well, it WAS a cheap investment, when SRCM was in the low-to-mid 20's.
Now that the par value of those warrants has gone from over $8 at the time of the big CC, to about 62 cents last time I checked quotes. Suddenly the deal loses a lot of its lustre, does it not?

rather than be somehow beholden to the likes of Mr Softee, I'll go the srcm route.

Nononononono, it's not that easy. The 900 pound gorilla doesn't go away just because you arm yourself with a pocket knife.

TV Guide has the distribution agreements, they don't need msft.

But they DO need SRCM? Ha!

That's not to mention srcm's patents.

Good, because they're not worth mentioning.
