Thread, I've been asked about a company called MSI Holdings that trades under MSIA.

Anyone familiar with this outfit? They certainly make some bold claims, and they are not shy about tossing names about. What can you say about their financials, strategies, products and services? Anyone?

A recent press release follows, below.

MSI And Southwestern Bell Enter ADSL Reseller
Agreement

Business Wire - May 12, 1999 11:03

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1999--

Deal Will Help Internet Service Providers offerBroadband Connectivity, Speed Drive Toward Enhanced Internet Services and Online Offerings

Micro-Media Solutions, Inc. (OTC BB:MSIA), a wholly owned subsidiary of MSI Holdings, Inc., and Southwestern Bell today announced an alliance that will provide high-speed Internet connectivity to MSI customers using Southwestern Bell's Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Lines (ADSL).

Through this authorized reseller program MSI will give customers such as Internet Service Providers (ISP) an additional opportunity to leverage Southwestern Bell's broadband technology by providing them high-speed links, greater bandwidth and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) connectivity

This will in turn allow ISPs to provide their subscribers faster Internet access.

Purchasing these services from MSI will help eliminate the up-front capital expenditures needed by ISPs who want to provide broadband connectivity, giving them the ability to offer these services at competitive prices. ADSL enables customers to access the Internet or corporate networks at speeds up to 200 times faster than conventional analog modems.

"The arrangement with MSI allows us more freedom as an outsource engineering company, giving us a wider reach and better service at a less expensive price," said Mike Erwin, president of OuterNet Connection Strategies, Inc., a leading Austin, Texas-based ISP. "We're very excited about what OuterNet and MSI have done, and what we have planned for the future."

Increased bandwidth is critical for enabling the adoption of multimedia-driven content for both businesses and individuals, and for standardizing on the Internet applications such as videoconferencing and full-motion video. Such advances are expected to transform e- commerce and communications by helping accelerate the convergence of voice, data and video.

"This agreement creates another powerful distribution channel for Southwestern Bell's ADSL service, and makes ADSL an even more attractive high-speed solution by giving customers more options when choosing an ISP," said Amy Cook, manager of Southwestern Bell's ISP Partner Program.

"By partnering with a telecommunications leader like Southwestern Bell, MSI is taking another major step forward in delivering broadband accessibility to its ISP customers," said Gary Fortin, MSI's director of marketing. "MSI customers will make ADSL affordable and convenient for end-users, and will help meet market demand for greater bandwidth by empowering ISPs with the infrastructure to offer their customers high-speed Internet connections."

Today, Southwestern Bell makes ADSL available to one million homes and plans to increase availability to 3.2 million homes by the end of 1999. Through partnerships with companies such as MSI, Southwestern Bell is making it easier to receive ADSL service through the ISP that best meets their personal or business requirements.

MSI's Internet Accelerator Portal(TM) (IAP) data center has access to virtually unlimited bandwidth on demand, which enables MSI to deliver high-quality multimedia content, available to MSI's customers and anyone with broadband connections such as ADSL. Availability to this technology gives MSI a unique capability to accelerate end-user response times by moving Internet applications directly onto the Internet. The IAP connects directly to one of the largest fiber optic access points of the Internet, which resides within MSI's facility. Using this access, MSI will provide customers a more efficient method of delivering information and content, and give businesses the opportunity to offer their customers advanced services via the Internet.
