I would assume that would be before taxes, since most calculate their net worth on holdings before they are sold. By the way, I tossed my Forbes after reading it, but thinking about it I may have made a mistake. I think it said: >1 M top 10%, greater than 2.7M top 1%, >5M top 1/2%, after that it gets really steep. Average Forbes reader ~ 1M.
