Thanks for that interesting link to the "copper industry" article.

Could Seagate be trying to thin the herd?

I'm convinced that they are, by using their balance sheet to do just that. Quantum's Brown alluded to it in the pre-announcement CC and at StorageTrack last week. The feeling was also echoed by Cannon, Haggerty and HMT's Schauer.

It is needed? Yes! Will it work? These folks say it won't.
