TP, I design motherboards for a living. There's nothing easy about it. It requires a lot of engineering resources, CAD, Lab, Bios support, testing facilities, EMI scans and approvals, a unique ASL,
vendor qualification are just a few of the many facets of designing any motherboard regardless of wether is has new technology or not.

In order to properly design for quality and offer a warranty is no
easy task. The actual layout of the board can be done in only a
few weeks, it's all the other stuff that requires expensive resources.
To do all that just to put something in an old chassis makes no sense.
