Polycom Announces New DCP-Integrated Version of
Polycom ViewStation Videoconferencing System

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Polycom®, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM - news) today announced that it has signed a licensing
agreement that permits integration of Lucent Technologies Digital Communications Protocol (DCP) with Polycom ViewStation(TM) group
videoconferencing systems. Under this agreement, customers can connect the new Polycom ViewStation DCP 512 group videoconferencing
system directly to a Lucent DEFINITY® Enterprise Communications Server (ECS).

''This agreement marks a milestone in delivering the first videoconferencing system to connect directly to a PBX, eliminating the need for
any other network resources and making ViewStation truly 'plug and play','' said Bob Hagerty, Polycom's president and CEO. ''We are now
positioned to offer flexible, easy-to-use videoconferencing to Lucent's extensive DEFINITY system customer base, which will significantly
broaden the market and demand for high-performance videoconferencing systems.''

''Videoconferencing is quickly becoming a business-critical application for our DEFINITY system customer base,'' said Alex Gray, Internet
Communications vice president, Lucent Technologies. ''Polycom's incorporation of the Lucent DCP interface with the Polycom ViewStation
and Lucent's distribution agreement with Polycom allows Lucent to provide DEFINITY system users with a truly simple, 'plug and play'
solution to deploy videoconferencing throughout their organizations.''

The Polycom ViewStation DCP 512 group videoconferencing system extends Polycom's position in setting the standard for
high-performance videoconferencing, incorporating unique innovations that set it apart from any other videoconferencing systems available
today. It offers 512kbps full-motion video performance, and includes voice-activated camera-tracking and the industry's first implementation
of an embedded Web server as standard features. ViewStation's innovative embedded Web server enables easy access for remote system
management and diagnostics, simple software upgrades via the Internet or intranet, and also provides a convenient and reliable way to
display presentations from local or remote connections.

Polycom's ViewStation group videoconferencing systems have garnered a number of industry awards and accolades, most recently as ''Best
New Videoconferencing Product'' at MultimediaCom Spring '99, NewMedia magazine's ''1999 Hyper Award,'' and winner of the TeleCon trade
show's ''Most Significant Advance in Teleconferencing'' award for 1997 and 1998.

Thanks Jenna. Yeah, I've had plcm for a couple of weeks and it's been amazing. I found it during one of my weekend hunts thru "Daily Graphs". I love finding stocks that way - when they perform as well as plcm, it's very gratifying! Plcm also had some arrangement with LU
that they announced today. The momentum is awesome!
