Why shouldn't they? They are trying to raise as much money as possible for the company.

Anybody have a definitive answer on the day of
their IPO?

Is it Friday, or next week?

The perception and PR activity that surround this company
sound very similar to the hype that XYLAN had when it
came out.

If memory serves me, XYLAN rocketed to ~70$ share after IPO'ing at
20$ and then after a few months had slid down, never to exceed
those values again, DESPITE delivering pretty good growth.

Be interesting to see how it goes, and I might take a miniscule
position near the open for my really high risk position.
