C-Cube Microsystems (CUBE; option root UQB - 30-3/4) The shares of this digital compression chip and software producer have been on an uptrend since the beginning of June, utilizing their 10-day moving average as support. CUBE has recently attracted call buyers, especially on Thursdays and Fridays. One report suggested that this increase in late-week call buying indicates that traders expect a merger to occur over the weekend. In options activity yesterday, we saw unusual activity on the July 35 call, as open interest expanded by nearly 900 contracts. Today's option activity is very light. optionsource.com
