In the big picture Y2K is unimportant in the gold situation - Yes, some gold coin sales may result and it may develop some awareness - but it is a one time thing. If the Congress rejects the IMF sales it will IMO be an important turning point in sentiment, and we may see great pressure on the Swiss to do likewise.
