To All Lawyers,

I have a question for you relating to how companies pay out bonuses. Nothing urgent, though what our co is doing is annoying the hell out of me.

I am a consultant, and part of our salary is bonuses, which are paid based on hours billed. For the last 2 months, my company has not been able to figure out how many hours each of us has been billing, supposedly due to a new on-line time reporting system they have put in place. So they have been paying us bonuses based on each of us hitting 50% billable time per month. I have averaged more like 90% billable time per month, so obviously I am getting shortchanged. In addition, I am leaving the co end of this month.

Are there any regulations which require them to pay me what they owe me, once they do figure out how much I billed or since this is bonus money, they can just eat it up? As an aside, since they are doing this to everyone in the co, and have been doing it for a while, this is a substantial amount of money they can earn interest on... which gets my goat even more. And to think this is one of the largest IT co's in the world...

Nothing urgent, but if you could check on this when you have the time, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Monish
