Growth of Clik! in capacity & performance is a "natural expectation"

Mentioned by Mike Joseph, VP of Clik! Product Management at Iomega:

"...of course like any magnetic technology [Clik!] has the
capacity to grow in performance and capacity over time so
that's a natural expectation as we move forward, although
very clearly 40MB, which is 25 times a floppy, in this form
factor, the size of a credit card, is very tantalizing for a lot of
OEMs and aftermarket companies to utilize in their
applications..."

(Eventually: 40MB for $6...80MB for $10??)

"...our drive is more rugged than the camera it
will be used in..."

"...the power when it's idling—it's only running
when you save a picture
— ...is less than that consumed by the standby light on your laptop computer..."

"...that's...why it took so long to get this product to the marketplace, to knock off power and shock and performance issues to the point where it had the capacity, the price, and the power consumption and ruggedness to meet the needs of the mobile marketplace."

<<right. and each time you fill up 260mb, you spend another $300 for another 260mb. $10 for 40mb, or $60 for 260mb vs Calluna $300 for 260mb. competition keeps finding a way to cost more money<<

Not to mention that Calluna is a hard drive competing against IBM's microdrive, not Clik!

Zead

P.s. Did you hear about Kenny Pee? Rumor has it he's tired of all the B.S. around here, go figure, eh!!
