I certainly know of it, but it is such an insignificant part of my memory I had forgotten it. I somehow do not process "Welby" as an American cultural icon. You must forgive me. I did not much grow up with TV, and so about all I can remember (and this not very well) of "Marcus Welby" is a commercial wherein Robert Young sold a product of some sort dressed as a doctor. (I remember it because I recall what I thought was the subtle dishonesty of the advertisement- lending to the product the false credibility of a non-existent doctor.)

Stuff about the private lives of "stars" and whatnot I haven't much of a clue about; and to be frank, I really do not want a clue about it. (grin) So I do not know who 'Mr. Streisand' is. From your post I understand he was "Welby's" partner (For some reason I have the vaguest sense of this fellow's face. Is it James Brolin?).
