WT - I suspect that today's action was more "day trader" oriented than a vote of no confidence. I suspect the stock's run-up these past few days was by some traders expecting a takeover/major contract win. When this news hit it kind of dampened the takeover fervor and I think the short term traders left. Time will tell. Rob

PS Weren't the chartists telling us the future was bright just two days ago?

Kearns Capital downgraded NN to "accumulate" from "buy." Merril Lynch maintained "near-term neutral," and a "long-term accumulate" ratings. On the other hand, BancBoston reiterated a "buy" rating. While I'm not evaluating the reputations of any of the above firms/ratings, all three firms probably listened to the conference call.

Everything comes down to consistency of execution and credibility, and, for the time being, NN just does not cut it.

I believe the stock ran up on Tuesday based on buy-out rumors. When the acquisition was announced I suspect it was day-traders and "in for the pop" type investors who got out. If major investors had been disappointed, I believe the stock would have been trimmed a lot more.

Something like this takes a few days to digest and it wouldn't surprise me to see more analysts making comments over the next week or so.

Just my opinion.
