CSCO was up with other communications stocks, such as QCOM, LU and many other internet infrastructure companies. The fall of COMS probably contributed to the mood. Volume was slightly below average for CSCO, so I wouldn't read too much into today's action, other than short covering and a lack of negative factors in a generally upbeat industry environment.

We had an interesting price pattern this week. I already commented on
the various ways of interpreting the stock's price movements over the
past few months, concluding that I had no idea where the stock was
going (see siliconinvestor.com.
Well, now we have some more data after this week's activity. The
stock didn't break out on either side, but instead seemed to be
oscillating between two converging trend lines like a dampened sine
wave. So, now what the heck does that mean? Downsouth?

I'm simply hoping that the pent up volume gets released next week
for an upside move. I was particularly impressed how CSCO often
was more positive than the greater NASDAQ 100 sample, i.e. during
the last hour or so of today.
