Re: Going by all the discussion on "quiet periods", AMD are sailing close to the wind by talking to the analysts before going public with the news. They had better make sure they give us the news before any trading in the stock is resumed.

Does the trading halt apply to Instinet? Does each trading firm (NASDAQ, Pacific Stock Exchange, CBOE, etc.) have to call a halt, or can AMD demand that there be no trading in it's stock by anyone? Just curious about the inner workings of a halt.
