Imagine how much worse the loss would be if they didn't count revenue from the Athlon...

While I believe the timing is more than coincidental, the K7, or Athlon chip has to be taken seriously by intc unless amd proves they cannot deliver. IBM is supposed to be announcing adoption of the chip. Compaq likely will also.
