The point is that Intel can afford it. Not withstanding having to participate in Jerry's private war, Intel will in all likelihood report record revenue and earnings in 1999. AMD....well, let's just say they will be fighting for their financial lives.

I don't think so. Given Intel's practice, this quarter falls
in line with their prediction. Unless you mean if they don't
'punish' AMD, they would have a much better quarter than Q1.
